Akeeba backup ошибка 500 - Не ошибается лишь тот, кто ничего не делает!

Akeeba Backup for WordPress / Akeeba Solo throws an AJAX Error,
500 Internal Server Error or the backup does not complete

If the backup process does not start, i.e. you click on the
button and nothing happens, please go through the client-side
troubleshooting steps before doing anything else. Most likely
it’s an issue with your PC configuration or ISP.

Before you do anything else, make sure that your server complies
with the minimum requirements of Akeeba Backup for WordPress / Akeeba
Solo. The PHP (and WordPress) version compatibility matrix is
published on our site.

	Tip
If you have tried all of the above and your site is hosted on one.com, check out the special instructions at the bottom of this page.

The most usual backup issues manifest themselves by means of an
«AJAX Loading Error» message. This error message by itself means
pretty much nothing. All it tells us is that the backup failed.
Normally, you should post your log file to our ticket system so that
we can take a look at it to figure out what went wrong. However, there
are some common issues you can work around yourself, without looking
at the log file. You should follow the following troubleshooting steps
one by one until your backup works.

Are you on Windows, backing up a local site? Some antivirus
and backup software may end up locking the backup archive while
it’s still being created, leading to an error message about the
backup archive not being able to be opened for writing. One very
notorious case of this kind is WD SmartWare backup software (kudos
to our user, Markus, for letting us know). We strongly advise you
to turn off or at least temporarily suspend any backup and
antivirus software while the backup is in progress.

Another issue on Windows is resource usage, especially on
old (Windows XP) and 32-bit versions of Windows. These versions of
Windows have a limited capacity of system resources, meaning that
they can only keep a very finite number of files open at any time.
Combined with a bug in older versions of PHP for Windows this can
lead to resource depletion and backup issues, appearing as
unreadable files. Please try quitting as many applications as
possible, including those running in the background (e.g. those
running as system tray icons). It’s also a good idea to turn off
or temporarily suspend resource-intensive software such as backup
and antivirus applications while the backup is running.
Sometimes the backup seems to complete, but it hangs when
uploading the backup archive to a remote location (e.g. Dropbox,
Amazon S3, an FTP server, …). If you are not sure, the hang
we’re describing happens after the progress
bar hits 75%. In this case you will need to lower the
Part Size for Split Archives setting. Find
the Archiver Engine option of the Akeeba
Backup’s / Akeeba Solo’s Configuration page and click on the
Configure… button next to it. The
Part Size for Split Archives setting is in
the pane which opens below. Try smaller settings until the backup
completes. Please note that your backup will now be split in
multiple files and you need all of them to be present to restore
your backup. The exact reason this may be required is described in
Akeeba Backup User’s Guide, under the cloud backup section.
The first thing you must do is to use the
Configuration Wizard button in the Control
Panel page to automatically adjust a series of configuration
parameters to safer settings. The wizard performs benchmarking of
your server to determine those values. It is not always 100%
accurate, but the settings it creates are at the very least a good
starting point for tweaking them manually. If it seems to get
stuck for more than three minutes (180 seconds) the first time you
run it, reload the page.
Make sure that your hosts PHP memory_limit is at least 16Mb.
Anything lower than that will most likely result to a backup
failure. If unsure, ask your host; we can’t know this value for
sure. If this is an option, ask your host to increase the PHP
memory limit. We recommend 32Mb for medium-sized sites, 64Mb for
larger sites.
Try visiting the Configuration page and
clicking on Save. This is sometimes
necessary right after upgrading from a very old version. This
simple move will refresh your configuration and pick up the
default values for any new parameters which might have been
introduced in the new release.
Check your free space. Akeeba Backup / Akeeba Solo is trying
to create an archive with your entire database and all of your
site’s files; it needs adequate free space to do that. If you
don’t have enough free space, your host will kill the script in
mid-process, making Akeeba Backup’s / Akeeba Solo’s interface
throw this error. As a rule of thumb, we propose having about
40-50% of your account’s allocated quota free.

Some hosts claim to give you «unlimited» space, or an absurd
amount like 100Gb. According to our experience, they mostly lie.
On many occasions the host only gave 100Mb or 1Gb of space. If
unsure, please ask your host about the real free space you have in
your account.
If you are using the ZIP archive format it is possible that
you run into timeouts. The problem with the ZIP format is that we
have to read each file twice. We read it once in order to
calculate a «file signature» (properly called a «CRC32 checksum»),
then we read it again in order to add it inside the archive.
Unfortunately these steps can’t be combined and, on top of that,
the very slow signature calculation step must be able to run in
one go. With larger files and slower hosts this will consistently
lead to timeouts. If you suspect this is the case, please use the
JPA format setting in the Archiver Engine
option of the Akeeba Backup’s / Akeeba Solo’s Configuration
page.

Note: On some hosts you might have to use the «ZIP Format»
or «ZIP using ZipArchiver» options instead of JPA.
Some servers have a very strict limit on the maximum
execution time of PHP scripts. By default, Akeeba Backup / Akeeba
Solo is configured with a maximum execution time allowance of 14
seconds. In order to work around such hosts, please go to your
Akeeba Backup / Akeeba Solo Configuration page and scroll all the
way down to the Fine Tuning pane. You will
find an option labeled Maximum Execution
Time. Select the «Custom…» option and type in 5 in
the text box that appears to the right of the drop-down. Click on
the Save button and retry backing up your
site. WARNING! NEVER SET THE Minimum execution
time TO A VALUE HIGHER THAN 2 SECONDS UNLESS EXPLICITLY
ASKED TO DO SO BY THE SUPPORT STAFF, OR YOU WILL GET A BACKUP
FAILURE.

We have heard of hosts which require settings even lower
than that. If in doubt, ask your host what their PHP
maximum_exec_time setting is, then subtract one second and use
this value in Akeeba Backup’s / Akeeba Solo’s Maximum
Execution Time setting.

convenience, please make sure you indicate that you have gone through
the steps on this page when posting your support request to avoid a

Special notes for one.com customers

If your site is hosted on one.com please follow these
instructions if the above doesn’t work:

Run the Configuration Wizard but do not take a backup
yet
Go to Akeeba Backup’s / Akeeba Solo’s Configuration page and
set the following parameters:
- Logging Level: Only errors (however, if you want to ask
  for support in our ticket system you must switch it back to
  All Information and Debug and try taking a new backup before
  posting us your log file)
- Click the Configure button in the Archiver Engine and
  set the «Part size for split archives» to 127Mb or
  less.
- Minimum execution time: 10 seconds
- Maximum execution time: 7 seconds
- Execution time bias: 50%

Please note that the above settings do cause the backup to run
at half speed, but this is required for your backup to run under
smoothly on one.com. We’d like to thank one.com’s tech support for
testing and providing these safe settings.

Мне нужно перекинуть сайт с хостинга на локальный сервер Ubuntu. Сделал бэкап сайта через Akeeba Backup, перебросил базу данных, восстановил сайт, но после удаления папки installation браузер выдаёт ошибку 500. Логи указаны правильно, но ничего нет. В чём может быть проблема?

Смотрите логи веб-сервера.

Логи включены, но нет даже файла error.log.
Вот что в файле конфигурации:

Может где-то ещё надо что-то изменить?
P.S: Путь к логам правильный!

По умолчанию журналы в Linux хранятся в /var/log, папка httpd. Вы там смотрите?

Нашёл ошибку вот что пишет:

PHP Fatal error:  Cannot use Joomla\String\String as String because 'String' is a special class name in /var/www/html/bazakuba/libraries/vendor/joomla/registry/src/Format/Json.php on line 12

Нашёл файл, вот эта линия:

use JoomlaStringString;

Что она может значить?

Понятно, но что делать?
Можно как-то исправить ничего не обновляя?

Искал в интернете, как откатиться на старую версию, но ничего не получалось. Пробовал способы с разных сайтов, ни один не помог.
Есть какой-то 100% рабочий способ?

Ну если логи по мистической причине не работают, то остается старый добрый методы научного тыка.
1. Пробуем ставить чистую Joomla, если работает то преходим к шагу 2, если нет на 80% траблы в настройках php
2. Если чистый движок работает а ваш перенесенный с хоста бэкап выдает 500 ошибку, то на 90% трабла у в htaccess да и скорее всего в mod_rewrite
3. Если же трабла не в htaccess а чистое двигло работает, то просто берем и пересобираем сайт ища в чем же косяк

Вот моя проблема.
Логи сервера работают, не работают Джумловские, но на сколько я понимаю их нет, так как ничего и не происходило именно в Joomla.

Нашёл способ устанавливать разные версии, но меньше 5.5 никак. Есть какой-то способ установить именно 5.4?

Вот моя проблема.

Ну если читая работает, начните с того что уберите ваш .htaccess и варните родной htaccess.txt так же в configuration.php

Если это все поможет то Google вам в помощь, там гора вариантов на тему .htaccess 500 error.
Но это все только в том случае если чистый движок работает, тогда вам ни какие нстройки и вресии php не нужны (я вообще не понимаю почему начали с них, когда самая распространенная проблема при 500 ошибке это кривой .htaccess )

P.S свой сервак и не исправит 500 ошибку подазрительно

1. Через Akeeba backup сохранил сайт.
2. Экспортировал к себе.
3. Скопировал к себе базу данных.
4. Запустил процесс восстановления.
5.Получил ошибку 500.

Но это все только в том случае если чистый движок работает, тогда вам ни какие нстройки и вресии php не нужны (я вообще не понимаю почему начали с них, когда самая распространенная проблема при 500 ошибке это кривой .htaccess )

.htaccess насколько я понял правильный, т.к. в логах ошибка не в .htaccess, а в файле Json.php
Погуглил ошибку и увидел, что проблема в php, а конкретно — Не совместимы php и расширения, т.к. расшерения предназначены для более старой php.
К тому же, у меня различаются версии php на локальном сервере и на хостинге( На хостинге php 5.5, а у меня 7.1)
Пробую откатить, но без толку, в phpinfo показывает версию php 7.1 хотя я её удалял.

если ошибка 500 то вот что можно сделать
Если проблема связана с файлом .htaccess, то Вам следует изменить:

директиву Options +FollowSymLinks на Options +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch
директиву Options All -Indexes на Options -Indexes
убрать параметр +ExecCGI
убрать параметры AddHandler, php_value, php_flag
удалить директиву -MultiViews
Закомментировать директивы в файле .htaccess можно поставив в начале строки символ #

Начал переустанавливать. Вот что получил:

Не соответствует версия php, но это было понятно ещё давно, но как я говорил у меня php не хочет переустанавливаться. Я удаляю его, пишет что он удалился либо пишет что он не установлен. Устанавливаю 5.5, не устанавливается без объяснения причины.

Поставьте PHP 5.4, должно работать.

Ребят, кто сталкивался с проблемой? Гуглил, пишут про какой-то FOF раздел из бэкапа, но к сожалению бэкапа нет.

Буду благодарен за помощь, проблемы начались после танцев с бубном вокруг widgetkit

проблему решил своими силами:
index.php?option=com_installer&view=manage — нужно вбить в домен/
попадет на деинсталятор, после нжуно удалить akeeba backup. Спасибо. Тему можно закрывать

Здравствуйте.
Подскажите пожалуйста как можно решить проблему.
Установил Akeeba Backup, при попытке сделать бекап выдаёт:

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4

Плагин Akeeba Backup Lazy Scheduling отключён.
сайт на локалке
Joomla 2.5
PHP 5.2.4
Akeeba Backup 3.4.3 (при попытке обновить до более поздней версии пишет ошибку, не обновляется не автоматически не из файла с оф. сайта)

Причём на одном сайте работает, делает бекап, всё без ошибок, а на другом, в котором те же расширения, модули, плагины, только разный контент и оформление выдаёт ошибку.

Подскажите возможные решения.

Переустановить Akeeba Backup вручную, удалив старую версию. Затем запустить мастер настройки, если будут ошибки — донастроить вручную, особенно каталог сохранения бэкапов.

PS: Для Joomla 2.5 и Akeeba Backup последних версий рекомендуется PHP 5.3.

OlegM, Огромное спасибо за помощь! Ещё раз удалил Akeeba Backup, установил тот же пакет и бекап создался. Только так и не понял почему раньше ругался, может установился криво

Здравствуйте!
Помогите пожалуйста решить проблему.
При создании резервной копии Akeeba Backup выдает ошибку 502.

Резервное копирование не удалось
Операция резервного копирования была приостановлена, поскольку была обнаружена ошибка.
Последним сообщением об ошибке было:

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 502 (Bad Gateway)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4
Raw server response:
502: Bad Gateway

Причем эта ошибка стала вылезать недавно. Все работало хорошо. Переставлял Akeeb-y, менял настройки. ничего не помогает. Хостинг Peterhost, PHP4. Joomla 2.5. Akeeba BackUp 3.11.

Прикрепляю Log журнала, может кто посмотрит, подскажет как решить проблему.

Мастер установки запускался сразу после установки компонента. минимальное и максимальное время выполнения тоже менял, ничего не помогает.

смотри в логи сервера, после работы акебы
в них (если не включено то включить display_errors в php, хотя на хостинге такое в 99% случаев запрещено ) должно всё отображаться
возможно станет яснее в чём проблема

попробуй понизить версию акебы (это как ещё один вариант, что бы просто работало)
а если всё же хочется что бы работала именно твоя версия, то в логи и ещё:
можно обычным php скриптом запаковать весь сайт, сделать дамп БД и развернуть это всё на локалке
в этом случае можно использовать display_errors в php

I have hosted my joomla website by uploading all my files to public_html, I have also changed the connections for host, user name, password and database name to the according. But when I run my front end, I see

By doing point no 2 — (enabling error reporting) still the issue persist, Please check the public $gzip; variable in configuration file. It should be 0 as Joomla internally does the gzip compression.

Some things to try:

Using FTP or similar, temporarily rename .htaccess to .htaccess.old and copy htaccess.txt to .htaccess in the root folder of your website so you are using the default .htaccess file.
Using FTP or similar, edit your configuration.php file and set public $error_reporting = 'maximum'; to see if there are any more meaningful error messages.
Temporarily rename any php.ini files in the root folder of your website.
Repeat steps 1 and 3 in the /administration folder if the back end of the website is also affected.
In cPanel or similar, try switching PHP 7.x back to PHP 5.6 if applicable. You may have some extensions that are not ready for PHP 7 yet.
Clear the cache by manually deleting everything in the /cache folder. Also clear the cache in the hosting control panel, in your CDN e.g. CloudFlare and anywhere else if these options exist.
Create and upload a simple index.html page to see if the hosting is operational.
Create and upload a simple index.php page to see if php is working (temporarily rename the current index.php to index.old).
Check folder and file permissions. Folders should be 755 and files should be 644.
Try restoring a copy of the website to an alternative local or remote host to see if the problem is with the hosting or if the website is broken somehow.
Try accessing the website via a temporary url rather than the domain name to see if the issue is with the domain name. For example, some hosts allow you to access your website via the IP address and cPanel account name like this: http://123.123.123.123/~acctname
Disable third party extensions one by one by editing the xxx_extensions table using phpMyAdmin or similar until the site works again or until all third party extensions are disabled.
In PHP Selector in cPanel or similar, check that the relevant PHP modules are enabled. PHP 5.6 will look something like this:

Assuming nothing else works, assuming you have a current backup and assuming you haven’t edited any of the core code, you could try uploading and expanding the full install package for your current version of Joomla e.g. Joomla_3.8.6-Stable-Full_Package.zip in the root folder of your website to overwrite any corrupt files. Once expanded, delete the install package and the /installation folder.

Hopefully one of these suggestions will help. Unfortunately there are many potential causes of «Error 500».

I experienced this error when trying to run a backup on a site hosted at the One.com provider.

The solution is to manually adjust the JPA part size for split archives. Even if the configuration wizard had been used, it didn’t work.

Go to Akeeba Backup -> Settings
Scroll down to Archiver engine where JPA is selected.
Click on the Configure button to the right of JPA.
In my case the Part Size for split archives was set to over 2 GB. I lowered it until it worked, which for me was 100 MB.

I have website already and wanted to do many changes in website. So I took the akeeba backup and created site locally.

When I created website, I got error as Internal Server Error. To solve that error I removed whatever was there in .htaccess file. Now website is working locally, however administrator is not working.

I followed the answer of same question, however it is not working.

Can anyone point, where I am going wrong? I need this to be done anyhow.

Смотрите логи веб-сервера.

В логах ничего нет. Абсолютно ничего.

Логи включены, но нет даже файла error.log.
Вот что в файле конфигурации:

Может где-то ещё надо что-то изменить?
P.S: Путь к логам правильный!

По умолчанию журналы в Linux хранятся в /var/log, папка httpd. Вы там смотрите?

Нашёл ошибку вот что пишет:

Только то, что у вас древнейшая версия движка и относительно новая версия php

2. Если чистый движок работает а ваш перенесенный с хоста бэкап выдает 500 ошибку, то на 90% трабла у в htaccess да и скорее всего в mod_rewrite

Вот моя проблема.

Ну если читая работает, начните с того что уберите ваш .htaccess и варните родной htaccess.txt так же в configuration.php

P.S свой сервак и не исправит 500 ошибку подазрительно

Сделал бэкап сайта через Akeeba Backup, перебросил базу данных, восстановил сайт, но после удаления папки installation

И вам уже давали советы пошагово, начните с установки чистого движка Joomla.

Но это все только в том случае если чистый движок работает, тогда вам ни какие нстройки и вресии php не нужны (я вообще не понимаю почему начали с них, когда самая распространенная проблема при 500 ошибке это кривой .htaccess )

Зачем себе отдельно копировали базу данных? Akeeba делает бэкап сайта вместе с базой данных.

1. Через Akeeba backup сохранил сайт.
2. Экспортировал к себе.
3. Скопировал к себе базу данных.
4. Запустил процесс восстановления.
5.Получил ошибку 500..htaccess насколько я понял правильный, т.к. в логах ошибка не в .htaccess, а в файле Json.php
Погуглил ошибку и увидел, что проблема в php, а конкретно — Не совместимы php и расширения, т.к. расшерения предназначены для более старой php.
К тому же, у меня различаются версии php на локальном сервере и на хостинге( На хостинге php 5.5, а у меня 7.1)
Пробую откатить, но без толку, в phpinfo показывает версию php 7.1 хотя я её удалял.
Почему так происходит?

akeeba returns 500 error after update in J3.9.5

I wanted to update the joomla version (currently 3.9.5 php 7.4) and before making a backup checked for Akeeba updates, found 2, cant remember the exact names, installed these via ‘extensions updates’ and now akeeba returns error 500.

Help please !

Are the front end and the back end of the website working all right otherwise, except Akeeba Backup?

If the back end works all right, set Error Reporting in the Global Configuration to ‘Maximum’, set the Debug option and also enable the plugin System — Debug so that error messages give more information, including the script and line number where the PHP fatal error occurred.

Akeeba Backup is well documented and the following page has all the information about the compatibility of different versions of Akeeba Backup with Joomla 3.9 and above and PHP 7.4 and above.

Can you please post the results from the Forum Post Assistant (FPA) by following the instructions at https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/ so that the configuration can be reviewed.

You need Akeeba Backup 8.2.6 to run on Joomla 3.9.x https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/akeeba-backup/

A quick reply to say thanks for the rapid response, I’ve downloaded the FPA script and found where to insert it. However, this is a volunteer effort for a club on my part and right now the day job takes precedence, so it may be a day or two before I can give it the time it needs. Thanks and I’ll be back in a day or two.

The site can be accessed both front and back end and seems to work correctly apart from Akeeba (not everything tested)

The error message does not seem to be in the above, I’ve tried again to include it in the FPA under options but as soon as the error message is in the report, it is refused by the forum software. Not sure what to do next

The curly braces syntax was deprecated in PHP 7.4, released in November 2019. Joomla 3.9.5 was released earlier, in April 2019. Joomla 3.9.5 was still using the deprecated syntax, which has been corrected in later versions of Joomla.

Write enable and edit the file configuration.php in the main Joomla folder and make the following change so that the Deprecated messages are filtered and Joomla sessions can start:

Joomla will work in 128M but 256M would be better in the long term, especially when upgrading the website to Joomla 4.

Check the versions of all the third party extension from the Joomla Extensions Directory (JED) but also from the developers’ websites because some older extensions do not send update notifications and some extensions like XMap may have been abandoned.

The XMap component and its plugins are vulnerable and should be uninstalled. Use OSMap instead.

OK thanks, I’ve contacted the host and await response.
Am also working through the various 3rd party extensions — will report later.
I’ve also modified configuration.php as suggested and I can now access the site front and back ends.

I’ve tried to access Akeeba via the site admin/components/Akeeba and get this :

I’ve also taken the front end off line but I notice that the debug information is still displayed on the front end under the «offline» message.

Is this normal ? It will look pretty scary to the public…

You can turn off the Debug option by write enabling and editing the file configuration.php:

You seem to have a missing file in Akeeba or it has wrong permissions. Check if the file is there.
Joomla/MyCMS4/media/fef/php/AkeebaFEFLoader.php
Maybe you can reinstall Akeeba Backup.

The directory Joomla/MyCMS4/media/fef/php/ does not exist.
In Joomla/MyCMS4/media/fef there are 3 sub dir : /css /fonts /js
fef.php is a file in Joomla/MyCMS4/media/fef there is no directory ….fef/php

As suggested by @Slackervaara, reinstall Akeeba Backup.

Please note that the website has Akeeba Backup 6.4.0 but the developer of Akeeba Backup recommends version 8.2.6 for Joomla 3.9 and PHP 7.4.

Do i need to uninstall the Akeeba elements first, as in the attached screen grab, or will the install process automatically overwrite them ?

The install process updates the extension, which includes adding, updating and deleting PHP files. The database will also be updated and the previous data tables and backup files, if stored in the web server, will remain intact.

Many, many, thanks. Problem now resolved. Akeeba 8.2.6 installed and working correctly which enabled me to update Joomla to 3.10.11 and php to 8.1. So all is well for the time being thanks to your help.

Whenever i try to backup my site using akeeba backup, after running for some time it gives me this error

Code:

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4
Raw server response:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, no-reply@x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It work previously with default settings but now its not working.

Can you check the permissions and make sure that all files have a permission of 644 and all folders have a permission of 755?

I have already checked that but the problem still persists. I was able to run backup earlier but now after the server changed from fris to boru it never runned successfully again

Steps to reproduce the issue

Setup joomla 4 beta2 tried to install akeeba backup after it times out get this error

Expected result

install component and go back to install screen

Actual result

Oops! An Error Occurred
The server returned a «500 Whoops, looks like something went wrong.».
will not even go to front end to view web site

System information (as much as possible)

php 7.4.6
Apache/2.4.43
10.4.11-MariaDB
localhost xampp
windows 10 pro

okay found problem i deleted the tables for ganty 5 install now have site working now akeeba installed

Some things to try:

Using FTP or similar, temporarily rename .htaccess to .htaccess.old and copy htaccess.txt to .htaccess in the root folder of your website so you are using the default .htaccess file.
Using FTP or similar, edit your configuration.php file and set public $error_reporting = 'maximum'; to see if there are any more meaningful error messages.
Temporarily rename any php.ini files in the root folder of your website.
Repeat steps 1 and 3 in the /administration folder if the back end of the website is also affected.
In cPanel or similar, try switching PHP 7.x back to PHP 5.6 if applicable. You may have some extensions that are not ready for PHP 7 yet.
Clear the cache by manually deleting everything in the /cache folder. Also clear the cache in the hosting control panel, in your CDN e.g. CloudFlare and anywhere else if these options exist.
Create and upload a simple index.html page to see if the hosting is operational.
Create and upload a simple index.php page to see if php is working (temporarily rename the current index.php to index.old).
Check folder and file permissions. Folders should be 755 and files should be 644.
Try restoring a copy of the website to an alternative local or remote host to see if the problem is with the hosting or if the website is broken somehow.
Try accessing the website via a temporary url rather than the domain name to see if the issue is with the domain name. For example, some hosts allow you to access your website via the IP address and cPanel account name like this: http://123.123.123.123/~acctname
Disable third party extensions one by one by editing the xxx_extensions table using phpMyAdmin or similar until the site works again or until all third party extensions are disabled.
In PHP Selector in cPanel or similar, check that the relevant PHP modules are enabled. PHP 5.6 will look something like this:

Assuming nothing else works, assuming you have a current backup and assuming you haven’t edited any of the core code, you could try uploading and expanding the full install package for your current version of Joomla e.g. Joomla_3.8.6-Stable-Full_Package.zip in the root folder of your website to overwrite any corrupt files. Once expanded, delete the install package and the /installation folder.

Hopefully one of these suggestions will help. Unfortunately there are many potential causes of «Error 500».
