My Internet connection slows down significantly in the evenings, making streaming difficult at times. I am trying to download some shows from AppleTV+ to watch when that happens.
Right now my speed is fast enough this morning that I can watch AppleTV+ and other streaming services just fine, but the download of even a single episode crawls along for several minutes and then says stopped, error = -1005.
That happens regardless of the number of downloads I have going, even just 1. It doesn’t matter if I have simultaneous downloads on or off.
I just ran an Ookla speed test and currently have 33.88 Mbps down and 6.00 Mpbs up. Latency is 50 idle, 151 during down test, 788 during up test.
I found a different topic, Movie download — Apple Community, but the proposed solution in that thread is for redownloading apps and does not mention this error. I didn’t find that any of the steps applied here.
Thank you for any thoughts or advice anyone has.
