O.S: Windows 10 Pro 64 bits
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB
CPU: AMD FX 6300 BLACK EDITION
RAM: 8GB DDR3

The error that I was getting

I tried to open up the game and Steam said that I was playing but the game launcher wasn’t popping up so I had to close down the game with Task Manager.

Step 1 : Download the game via Steam.

Step 2 : Go to the game directory (e.g. “C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon”).

Step 3 : Right click the “maxpayne2.exe” then go to Properties/Compatibility tab/select Run this program in Compatibility mode for: choose “Windows 98 / Windows ME” and then go to “Privilege Level” and enable “Run this program as an administrator” then click apply and OK.

Step 4 : Now remove the spaces from the game folder’s name, (e.g. change “SteamAppsCommonMax Payne 2 The Fall of Max Payne ” to “SteamAppsCommonMaxPayne2TheFallofMaxPayne”

Step 6 : After you do that, edit the appmanifest file with WordPad
